Jasmine Matcha latte

Jasmine Matcha Latte

Introduction

This iced matcha latte blends jasmine tea with smooth matcha and milk. It's a quiet moment in a glass.

Story

Jasmine tea reminds me of home. My parents made it every morning in a big white teapot. When the lid came off, I would run over and breathe in the steam. That smell stuck with me.

Maybe that’s why I work with tea and wine now. Smell helps me feel close to things.

One day, I asked my wife to try something new. We brewed jasmine tea, whisked matcha, and poured both into a glass of milk and ice. That sip felt like memory and focus meeting in one place. We named it jasmine matcha latte.

It wasn’t just a drink. It felt like time folding in.

「茶とはただ湯をわかし茶をたてて飲むばかりなることと知るべし」 “Tea is nothing but this: boil water, make tea, and drink it.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use jasmine tea bags?

Answer

Yes, but loose-leaf gives a better scent and taste in your matcha latte.

Can I make this hot?

Answer

Yes. Skip the ice and use warm milk. Still a jasmine matcha latte, just cozy.

No bamboo whisk?

Answer

Use a frother or shake it in a jar. It may not be as smooth.

Can I prep it ahead?

Answer

Brew the jasmine tea and matcha. Chill them. Mix when ready.

Is it sweetened?

This matcha latte is unsweetened. Add your choice of sweetener if needed.

Will matcha overpower the jasmine?
Not with this ratio. Jasmine hits first, matcha lingers after.
